پیتے ہیں شراب ہاضم گردش
دل جلانے کو قہر نہیں آتی
We drink wine to digest the rotation (of fate)
There is no anger to burn the heart
دیدہ بیدار کو جبین سجدہ
کس قدر زور سے پڑتی ہے
کوئی حسرت ناکام رہ گئی
کوئی جستجو مقصود رہ گئی
The forehead of the awake eye (i.e., the one who sees the truth)
How forcefully it falls (in prostration)
Some regret remained unfulfilled
Some search remained purposeless
بس کہ دشوار ہے ہر کام کا آساں ہونا
آدمی کو بھی مئاسر نہیں انساں ہونا
